Life in Mumbai is the epitome of urban living – poor infrastructure, tight schedules and a craving for instant gratification. Rains seem to amplify these traits with potholes acting like unwanted guests, limiting your ability and desire to get things done.
This reminds of a recent incident that I would like to share with everyone. It was a bright Sunday morning, a far cry from what Mumbai has been witnessing for the last couple of months. But before I could spell the sunshine, the weather changed and it started raining heavily. My home was a mess as my mother was not well and I was busy with some preparations for an upcoming function at home. I decided to look up home cleaning services online and found out about a company called “MyDidi”.
I was relieved to find out that “MyDidi” served in all the areas of Mumbai. They had a lot of cleaning services to choose from. Without wasting any time, I booked a service for that afternoon. Let me share my experience with you-
My Experience with MyDidi
I downloaded their android app which was very easy to use and had a set of cleaning options to choose from. Their regular cleaning service was priced at Rs. 149/ hour and deep cleaning (aka intensive cleaning) service at Rs. 249/hour/person. They also had an option to buy monthly and fortnightly packages at a reduced rate of Rs. 99/hour. Since I needed to get my house cleaned urgently, I decided to book the regular cleaning service. The app allowed me to schedule my booking including the one hour slot in which I wanted the Didi to come. The icing on the cake was the Didi gets all the cleaning supplies, so after booking the service you can just sit back and relax!
As soon as I booked my service, I received a confirmation message on my registered mobile phone that said my booking is confirmed and a Didi will be at my place at my chosen time slot. That was quick!
Didi arrived on time at 2 PM and as soon as she started cleaning, I received another message informing me about the exact job starting time. By now I was really impressed with the way they used technology. The Didi came equipped with gloves, cleaning supplies, and specialized mops. She started working diligently right after we told her what all had to be cleaned in the house. Her ease and expertise in doing the work was in stark contrast to my previous experience with other maids. My mother was surprised that home cleaning services are also available online. She asked the didi some questions and the didi answered all her questions politely and promptly.
Didi cleaned the floor, the kitchen, and the toilets. The mop that she was using worked great and it also saved a lot of water. The effort that she put in while cleaning was commendable. We were very satisfied with the quality of the service. We offered her some tea after she finished the job. As soon as she finished the job, I received another confirmation through sms on my phone about the job ending time. I was charged for the exact number of minutes that the Didi worked! I think I have found my rebuttal to the age old maid adage “Itne paise mein itna hi milega” (you will get only limited things in what you pay).
Why look for maids in your locality when you can easily get one with the click of a button? I recommend MyDidi to all my readers. You can also download their app from Play Store- Mydidi
